Emeritus Professor Professional ProfileEmeritus Professor Richard Fox specialises in the law of criminal procedure, the law relating to sentencing of offenders, and Australian federal criminal justice. He holds a Doctor of Laws from Monash University and a Master of Laws and Diploma of Criminology from Melbourne University. Following his retirement in March 2006 he was appointed an Emeritus Professor of the University and will continue to have a teaching association with the Faculty of Law. He was formerly an Associate Professor at the Centre of Criminology and the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto, Canada and has been a Fulbright Fellow and Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, Case University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He has been a consultant to the Law Reform Commission of Canada, the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Australian Law Reform Commission and the Victorian Law Reform Commission and is a foundation member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology. Since 1998 he has served as Chairman of the Board of Management of the Australian Institute of Criminology and is involved in the deliberations of the Criminology Research Council.
