Professional Profile

Leighton Morris graduated in law from Melbourne University, completed a Masters degree in the United States and worked as a solicitor with the Melbourne firm Blake and Rigall (now Blake Dawson Waldron) before joining Monash University.  His main academic and research interests are in the areas of air and space law, contract, torts, legal ethics, negotiation and legal education.  He has developed a range of law courses, including International Air Law, International Space Law and Legal Research & Communication, been an external examiner at the University of Hong Kong and conducted various overseas air transportation consultancies for AusAid and APEC.  He has held a number of positions within the Faculty of Law, including Associate Dean (Teaching), Associate Dean (Student Affairs) and Director International.  He is Deputy Chair of the Leo Cussen Institute, Melbourne and was awarded Monash University’s Vice Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Teaching in 1998.
