Senior Lecturer Professional ProfileAdam McBeth was appointed senior lecturer in 2009. He joined Monash University in 2006, having previously been a lecturer in law at Deakin University. Prior to this he was a postgraduate research fellow with Monash Law School's Castan Centre for Human Rights Law and a solicitor with a Melbourne firm. Adam's PhD thesis was on the topic of the application of international human rights law to international economic entities, and he has published a number of academic articles on topics related to the role of human rights law in the context of economic globalisation. Adam has made submissions to a range of governmental and international bodies on human rights issues and has given evidence before parliamentary inquiries. He has been part of a team delivering human rights training courses to staff from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission of Victoria, the Iraqi Human Rights Ministry, and to government and civil society representatives from Indonesia.
