Academic Visitors Programme

Guidelines

The Faculty of Law at Monash University is renowned for its excellence in teaching and research. The purpose of this program is to:

  • Promote collaboration between Monash researchers and partners within Australia and overseas
  • Provide stimulus to the Monash Law research environment
  • Strengthen the research profile of the Faculty of Law.

There are two application rounds each year. Closing dates for applications are 30 May and 31 October. For administrative purposes, it would be appreciated if notification is given at least six months in advance of the proposed visit.

There are significantly reduced numbers of staff and students during the non-teaching periods, so Visiting Academics are encouraged to visit Monash Law during semester periods:

  • March to June
  • July to November.

Australian Government regulations require all no-Australian Visiting Academics to travel to Australia on a Short Stay Business [subclass 456] or Visiting Academic [subclass 419] visa. A short stay business electronic travel authority (ETA) is also acceptable and can be obtained online via www.eta.immi.gov.au, but only listed ETA-eligible passport-holders can apply for this.

Monash University requires a copy of this visa for administrative purposes.

Please complete the application form [RTF], attach CV and email to visitor@law.monash.edu.au or post to:
