Research

The Monash Law School has a strong commitment to diverse and innovative forms of quality legal research. As a member of the Group of Eight research-intensive Universities, the School has a vibrant research culture supported by research ‘clusters’. Members of the Law School continue to produce influential research that is doctrinal, theoretical and law reform oriented and which attracts funding from a variety of sources. There are two research and teaching centres, the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law and the Centre for Regulatory Studies. In 2007 Professor Bernadette McSherry commenced a five year Federation Fellowship entitled Rethinking Mental Health Laws. Top students together with academic staff are involved in the publication of the peer reviewed journal, the Monash University Law Review.
