The Victorian Government has committed to cut regulatory red tape. The Government's 2006 Reducing Regulatory Burden initiative aims to ensure that regulation will not hinder economic activity or defeat the intended regulatory objectives. This initiative acknowledges that regulation can be an important tool to achieve Government policy objectives, but also aims to ensure that regulation is appropriate, with no unnecessary burdens placed on businesses, not-for-profit organisations and the community. In other words, it aims to improve market efficiency.

NOTE: Meets requirement for 6 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.

At completion of the seminar, participants should expect to:

  • Understand models aimed at reducing the administrative burden in the workplace
  • Articulate the challenges involved when applying these approaches
  • Outline relevant leading Victorian regulatory case studies
  • Appreciate the role of stakeholders in regulatory experiences
