Mr Romesh Weeramantry

Romesh Weeramantry is an Assistant Professor at the City University of Hong Kong.  He is currently completing his PhD thesis on investment arbitration.  His professional experience has included work in international arbitration, dispute resolution and public international law at the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal (The Hague), the United Nations Compensation Commission (Geneva) and at a leading Swiss law firm.  Additionally, as an independent consultant he has provided several legal opinions on public international law.   He has published in a variety of law journals, including the American Journal of International Law, is a contributor to the forthcoming Oxford University Press investment claims database and is presently co-authoring a Cambridge University Press book on international commercial arbitration.  He has been a Special Associate at the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and was also a founding Chairperson of the Australasian Forum for International Arbitration.
