Professor Jenny Hamilton

Jenny Hamilton is a professor of law at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland, specialising in financial services regulation and commercial law, including international trade. Her first degree is from Adelaide University and her second from Aberdeen University, Scotland. She has published widely and is co-author of the recently published Implementing Financial Regulation: theory and practice (Wiley, 2006), as well as publishing in a wide range of journals and presented conference papers and seminars in Europe, Asia and Australasia. She has recently been appointed as a member of the Consumer Panel of UK Financial Services Authority (the regulator of the UK financial services industry) and was previously a member of the Scottish Consumer Council (and Chair of its Legal Advisory Group). She is also a council member (and former Moderator) of Shared Interest Ltd, a UK co-operative that lends money on fair terms to third world producers.
