Professor Alison Firth

Alison Firth is professor of Commercial Law at Newcastle Law School, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. She is a member of the English Bar. Until June 2007 she was honorary legal adviser to the British Copyright Council (BCC). She has conducted a number of international training seminars for WIPO (through the auspices of BCC) and for the European Patent Office (examiners and judges). Alison is author of a number of books and articles in the field of intellectual property. Her research interests centre on the law of intellectual property as a whole and its interaction with other areas of law, such as contract, competition law, civil and criminal procedure, conflict of laws.
