Future fee adjustmentsFor future years of your course, Monash University reserves the right to adjust annual tuition fees. However the University undertakes that any adjustment factor will not exceed 6% per annum and will be applied on the 1st of January each year for that calendar year. Amenities feeAll students are required to pay a compulsory University amenities fee. This fee, which is paid each semester, contributes to the provision of student services and facilities. Amenities fees vary depending on your campus of enrolment, work load per semester and mode of study. For more information visit www.adm.monash.edu.au/ssd/fees/ FEE-HELPAustralian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa enrolled in an accredited postgraduate award program can choose to pay their tuition fee in three different ways:
FEE-HELP replaced the Postgraduate Education Loan Scheme (PELS) under the Higher Education Support Act 2004. Under the FEE-HELP scheme, students can borrow up to $50,000 in tuition fees and make loan repayments through the Australian taxation system when their annual income reaches the minimum threshold, which is currently $36,000. Who is eligible?Australian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa enrolled in an accredited postgraduate program are eligible for FEE-HELP assistance. FEE-HELP is not available to New Zealand citizens and holders of other permanent residence visas. These students must pay their program fees up front without a discount. For further information visit www.backingaustraliasfuture.gov.au Commonwealth Supported Places (formerly HECS places)Commencing 2005, some PDLP students will be awarded Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) (formerly referred to as HECS funded places). A CSP is a higher education place for which the commonwealth government makes a contribution towards the cost of your education. Research Training Scheme (RTS)Most domestic research students at Monash including those enrolled in the Master of Laws (by research), Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Juridical Science and the Doctor of Philosophy, are funded under the federal government’s Research Training Scheme (RTS). Financial aidThe Monash University Student Financial Aid office is available to assist students with a wide variety of financial matters, including advice on eligibility for Austudy and student loans. Information is available on a range of financial issues, including personal budgeting, financial planning and health care card entitlements.
