2006 Annual Dinner
The 2006 Annual Monash University Law Review Dinner was held at the Provincial Hotel in Fitzroy on 8 November 2006. The dinner marked the launch of Volume 32 of the Monash University Law Review.
The guest speaker for the night was The Hon Ronald Merkel QC. His Honour gave a thought-provoking and very relevant speech on the importance of the legal profession and human rights, and discussed his motives for moving back to the Bar after his stint as Justice of the Federal Court.
Volume 32(1) also had a tribute to Professor Richard G Fox, who retired from full time work at the Faculty of Law in 2006. The Monash University Law Review was saddened by the news, but were delighted to publish an address by Professor Fox in the edition, and to have him attend on the night.
