Domestic applicationsThe Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) applications are now open for the 2010 intakes. Application steps
NOTE: You can only submit an application for a Full Fee place. All completed applications submitted by the closing date, will automatically be considered for a Commonwealth Supported Place. Successful CSP candidates will be advised on their letter of offer.
Please only nominate one preference for Full Time or Part Time study, do not submit more than one preference.
Supporting Documentation
You must submit in support of your application;
If your documentation is in a language other than English, an official certified translation must be provided. You are not required to submit academic transcripts for courses you have undertaken at Monash University, but should instead provide your Monash student number. If you are intending to apply for credit or advance standing, please refer to the 'credit transfer' information below and make sure you provide the Credit application form with the required supporting documentation together with the above required application documents. Applications statusOnce you have submitted your application, you can track your application online by logging back in to your online application account. Important datesThere are three intakes per year for the Monash JD.
Note: Some candidates may be interviewed . Interviews are held in person at the Monash Law Chambers (or via teleconference if necessary).*If you receive credit or exemptions for any of the commencing Clayton units, you may need to start City units in the week beginning 4th January 2010. Credit transferIf you have completed postgraduate law studies with another institution within the last eight years, you may apply for credit. The maximum amount of credit that can be granted towards the Monash JD, is eight units. These may consist of eight core units (the named units in the Course structure ) or seven core units and one elective unit. Credit will no be given for units completed as part of an undergraduate degree, although students may be exempted from units where appropriate. When applying for credit or exemptions, an original or certified copy of your academic results and unit syllabus (units synopsis, assessment, number of hours, textbooks used) for the year the unit was studied is required for all studies not completed at Monash University. You must submit the Credit application form with your supporting documentation.
