Garry D. Watson

Garry D. Watson is a Professor at the Osgoode Hall Law School of York University, Toronto and has been a visiting professor at the University of Southern California, University of Toronto and Duke University Law Schools.

He currently teaches Civil Procedure, Trial Advocacy and a seminar in Class Actions at Osgoode. He served as a member of the Class Proceedings Committee 1997 - 2000.

He received his LL.B. from the University of Melbourne, Australia and his LL.M. from Yale University.

He is the co author of several books on Canadian civil procedure: Watson & McGowan, Ontario Civil Practice, Holmested & Watson, Ontario Civil Procedure (6 volumes) and Watson, Bogart, Hutchinson, Mosher, Pinos and Walker, The Civil Litigation Process: Cases and Materials, and numerous articles.

He was Counsel to the Ontario Civil Procedure Revision Committee 1976 1980 and he has been a member of the Ontario Civil Rules Committee since 1983.
