The International Institute of Forensic StudiesEducationThe Institute will develop courses for lawyers and other professionals who participate in the court system. This will include training in advocacy skills as well as courses for professionals who may be called upon as expert witnesses. The Institute will also offer post-graduate qualifications tailored to professional groups to improve their understanding of the system in which they work and their skills in dealing with forensic issues, ethics and evidence. By promoting research and education in forensic issues the Institute aims to help improve the functioning of courts and tribunals, the role of which is central to the administration of justice. The international focus of the Institute reflects a belief that there is much to be learned from different jurisdictions and acknowledges the increasingly international nature of dispute resolution. The Institute offers the Graduate Certificate in Forensic Studies in Melbourne, from March to November each year. |
