Special Consideration Procedures for the Faculty of Law

In-semester procedure for Undergraduate students

Special Consideration

You may apply for special consideration by lodging the In-semester Special Consideration form to the faculty teaching the unit affected no later than two University working days after the due date of the affected piece of work. Application forms relating to Law units should be submitted to the Student & Academic Services office at Clayton. Students must allow three university working days for notification of a decision on their application for in-semester special consideration.

You must provide appropriate evidence and date-related documentation as outlined on the application form.

Short extension

You may apply for an extension in a law unit, not exceeding two working days of the due date, by submitting a Short Extension form to the Chief Examiner of the unit. NB This does not apply to class tests.
An extension of more than two working days will be available only as an outcome of an application for Special Consideration.
