Course advice

General course advice is available to all undergraduate Law students by appointment only.

If you are currently enrolled in any Law Faculty course, including single subjects, and need advice with your course progression for the LAW component only, you are eligible to use our course advice.

For double degree students, if your inquiries relate to the non-law component of your double degree, please contact the teaching Faculty for course advice, i.e. Arts, Business & Economics, science etc.

What should I take note of before my appointment?

Prior to your appointment, you should check:

  • your course progression against relevant course / specialisation requirements
  • the number of credit points completed / enrolled / required
  • your progress in compulsory, quasi-compulsory and / or core units
  • the start date of your enrolment in the course to ensure you are on track for completion within the allowable time.

When can I go for course advice consultations?

Course advice consultations are held in the Law Student Services office and are in 30 minute blocks.  Appointments are available on the following days:

How do I make an appointment?

  • Step 1: Click on one of the time blocks above and select your time.
  • Step 2: Insert your full name, student ID number and contact number (mobile preferred) into the 'What' field and ensure you save.

What happens if I can't keep my appointment?

If you cannot keep your appointment, please log in and delete it from your calendar. It is your responsibility to ensure that units selected meet the degree regulations and requirements.

The faculty will endeavour to give you every possible assistance and advice concerning unit choice. However, the final choice is not the faculty's responsibility and the faculty does not take any responsibility for any error in unit selection.
