Master of Laws Elective Program for undergraduate students in 2015

Eligibility and program requirements

  • Only students who are completing their LLB within a year of enrolling in units are eligible to enrol. This means that students who will be course completing in Semester 1 can enrol in units commencing at the start of Semester 2 or later in a previous year.
  • Student must have achieved a minimum of 65% average in their Law units.
  • A maximum of two LLM units may be undertaken.
  • Fees will be as per the LLB enrolled course.
  • Successful completion of the unit/s will count towards your LLB and any postgraduate courses for law graduates (if undertaken within eight years).

Postgraduate units offered in 2015

  • A maximum of three LLB students may enrol in any one Master of Laws (LLM) unit. Places in units are given in the order of receipt of applications (see below).
  • The faculty does not offer all postgraduate units to LLB students. See below for the broad range that is offered.
  • Please note that some very popular units (particularly 'overview' units) may be full at the time of enrolment. In this instance students will be offered place on a waiting list. While vacancies regularly occur, we are unable to guarantee a place.
  • Postgraduate units are offered in a variety of modes intensive, semi-intensive or semester-long delivery. Please check the law postgraduate timetable for more information.

Application process

  • Eligible students will be invited to apply via email after Semester 2, results are released
  • The email will give detailed instructions on how to apply and enrol
  • Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis, of all eligible applicants. However your application should be submitted no later than five weeks prior to the start of the unit you wish to enrol in so that you can collect the reading material in time for preliminary reading
