The Law Faculty has accepted the University’s invitation to move to the Caulfield campus.
It has become clear that the Law School building at Clayton is no longer able to cope with the demands of the modern day faculty. Now nearly 50 years-old, the building has become cramped. More than three quarters of the teaching has to be carried out elsewhere.
The vision for the new law school is a multi level complex offering state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities with a major new library at its heart. Flexibility, adaptability and change are the keywords for the project with the emphasis on creating new learning areas to compliment the more traditional classrooms and lecture theatres. Staff and students are currently taking part in a detailed consultation process with the architects to develop the teaching spaces which best suit them.

Caulfield's Academic Director, Professor Rob Willis says:
"Caulfield campus' reputation as a focus of excellence in Business, Information Technology and Commerce would be greatly strengthened by the presence of the Faculty of Law in the new Western Precinct redevelopment."
