Castan Centre Global Internships
Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for this program and obtain funding through the Student Mobility Fund you must meet following eligibility criteria: *NOTE eligibility criteria is currently being updated and is subject to change.
- The following internships are open to all students enrolled in any Monash Law degree by coursework (LLB, any JD course, any LLM), whether full-time or part-time:
- International Women's Rights Action Watch - Asia Pacific
- International Commission of Jurists
- United Nations Global Compact
- Amazon Defense Coalitio
- The following internships are only open to Monash Law students undertaking an LLB or any full-time JD course:
- Australian Delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Council
- Human Rights First
- Oxfam Australia
- at the time of the internship have completed at least one full time equivalent year of law and have achieved a minimum credit (60%) average across your law studies
- at the time of the internship have at least one unit of your degree to complete.

have completed the following compulsory units (please note, the postgraduate equivalent units will also be accepted):

Introduction to Legal Reasoning (LAW1101)

Law in Society (LAW1102) OR Research and Writing (LAW1104)

Criminal Law (LAW 3301 AND 3302)

Contract Law (LAW2101 AND 2102)
-
Torts Law (LAW 2201 AND 2202)

Constitutional Law (LAW 3200, OR 3201)
-
have the ability to complete the internship without compromising law studies or examination periods
-
be available on return to commit to marketing and promotional activities, including future use of profiles and reports in marketing material (subject to negotiation with the Faculty Marketing Manager)

have not previously received faculty funding through the Student Mobility Fund

have a demonstrated interest in human rights, either through a history of community involvement or the completion of at least one of the following subjects (or similar) by the start date of the Internship:
