Monash University Distinguished Alumni Award

Each year, Monash presents awards to alumni in recognition of those who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievements, inspirational leadership and exceptional human qualities. Monash law graduates have dominated the Monash University Distinguished Alumni Awards in the past. Past recipients have included Mr. Julian Burnside, QC, Tony Pagone, QC, Ms Beth Wilson, Rev. Tim Costello and Dr Mick Dodson.

Barrister and conservationist, Mr Simon Molesworth AM QC (BA 1975, LLB 1977) was recognised in 2005 for his commitment to protecting our national natural heritage and conservation activities. As chairman of the Australian Council of National Trusts he has been the instigator of better environmental law and policy formulation. The award ceremony for 2005 recipients is to take place late August 2006.
