Castan Centre for Human Rights Law
Established to meet the need for, and interest in, the study of human rights law, globally, regionally and in Australia. It seeks to bring together the work of national and international human rights scholars, practitioners and advocates from a wide range of disciplines in order to promote and protect human rights. The Centre's key activities are research, teaching, public education, applied research, advice work and consultancies.
Monash Centre for Regulatory Studies
The Monash Centre for Regulatory Studies has been established by the Faculty of Law in association with the Faculties of Business and Economics, Arts and Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences to provide interdisciplinary postgraduate teaching programs in regulatory studies, to undertake and foster innovative research in regulatory theory and practice and to provide training and consultancy services, seminars and workshops for the public and private sectors in Australia and overseas.
The Australian Centre for Court and Justice System Innovation (ACCJSI)
The ACCJSI is an unincorporated joint venture between the Faculty of Law at Monash University and the Australasian Institute for Judicial Administration. ACCJSI is administratively supported by Monash University and its Centre Director and Foundation Chair is Professor Tania Sourdin of Monash University. ACCJSI has a strong focus on non-adversarial justice research.
Centre for the Advancement of Law and Mental Health
Mental health policy is becoming of increasing importance to governments around the world and the recent coming into force of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has provided added impetus for a rethinking of mental health laws and regulatory frameworks. Based in the Faculty of Law at Monash University's Clayton Campus, this Centre draws upon existing links with the Faculty of Medicine as well as the expertise of consumers, carers and mental health professionals in conducting research into the advancement of laws and policy relating to mental health issues. It reflects Monash University's commitment to social justice and human rights through excellence in research and scholarship.
